- NATIONAL REVIEW OF BULGARIAN ARCHITECTURE
 The National review-competition is carried out by the UAB every year for projects, and every three years (the year of the General Assembly) for realizations of city planning and architectural projects. Only UAB members can take part in the review.
- INTERARCH – WORLD TRIANNIAL OF ARCHITECTURE
The competition was established in 1981 and until 1998 it was carried out every two years. Since 1998 it has been carried out every three years. All members of the International Union of Architects can take part in Interarch. The competition is carried out in cooperation with the International Academy of Architecture.

Interarch'2006 May 14-17, 2006
The Europan competitions are for young architects (up to 40 years) in the area of architecture and city planning. The objectives of these competitions are to assist in the formation of the city public spaces and the residence conditions. They are organized every two years. Together with Sofia City Council and Europan-Europe the Union of the Architects in Bulgaria took part in two competitions – Europan 4 and Europan 5.
- BUILDING OF THE YEAR NATIONAL COMPETITION

It is organized by Building-The City newspaper and has been carried out every year since 2002. The goal of the competition is to distinguish the achievements of the Bulgarian architects, constructors and investors by making a professional and social evaluation of the realized projects in the construction business in Bulgaria.
 The first Internet competition for preliminary project “Architecture in the new millennium”. It has been carried out annually since 2003. Organizers of the competition are the Bulgarian construction port together with the International Academy of Architecture, the Union of the Architects in Bulgaria and the United Sofia Architects Association SPSDA. The goals of the competition are to show on the Internet and in the public space all current tendencies in architecture as well as to present new ideas to investors, architectural community and the building contractors.
